Liverpool made a statement of intent in the Europa League with a thumping 5-1 victory over Toulouse at Anfield on Thursday night. The Reds were dominant throughout, with Diogo Jota, Wataru Endo, Darwin Nunez, Ryan Gravenberch and Mo Salah all getting on the scoresheet.

Despite Thijs Dallinga equalizing for Toulouse in the 16th minute, Liverpool were always in control and took the lead just four minutes later through Endo’s superb header. Nunez added a third just before half-time with a venomous rising shot, and Gravenberch put the result beyond doubt in the 65th minute with a composed finish.

Substitute Salah then applied the icing on the cake with a strike that crashed in off the bar in stoppage time.

The victory sees Liverpool move five points clear at the top of Group E and well on their way to qualification for the knockout stages.
